Blue River LOSS Team

The Blue River LOSS Team was founded in 2018 to support suicide loss survivors in Gage and Jefferson counties. Loss survivors are individuals who have lost someone to suicide. LOSS Teams exist to be an instillation of hope. 

Raised funds will be utilized to purchase materials to give to suicide loss survivors, including books about suicide loss and grief.

LOSS – Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors – is an active suicide postvention model. This model involves two or more trained volunteers, called a LOSS Team, who provide support to those left behind. At least one of these two trained volunteers is a survivor of a suicide loss and the other is a trained behavioral health provider (clinician). LOSS Team volunteers are present to those left behind in a non-intrusive manner. They provide support, resources, and understanding.
