Heartland Cancer Foundation

$445 raised by 4 donors

The Heartland Cancer Foundation (HCF) believes that no cancer patient should fall behind on treatment because they struggle to afford their everyday expenses. HCF's mission is to provide practical and immediate financial assistance to eligible cancer patients in our community so they can focus on what matters most: healing. HCF aspires to provide compassion and hope by removing barriers to care by covering home, auto, utility costs, and travel expenses to and from treatments, for local cancer patients in need of additional support during their treatment journey.

The Facts About Cancer in Nebraska

Over 11,000 Nebraskans will receive a cancer diagnosis this year. That's your neighbors, co-workers, friends, and family. Chances are cancer has had an impact on your life. Cancer is the 2nd leading cause of death among Nebraska residents; 62% of cancer patients report being in debt due to treatment, and 42% of new cancer patients lose their life savings.

Empowering the Heartland to Heal

In 2025 alone, we supported 356 cancer patients struggling with financial hardship and provided $271,299.63 in housing and transportation grants. HCF has never turned down a patient's request and we want to fulfill 100% of the requests we will receive this year. HCF helped 20 patients in Gage County in 2025 for a total of $20,000.

Testimonial

"When I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer, our world turned upside down. With mounting medical bills, things got tight financially. Heartland Cancer Foundation was there for us during an extremely stressful time. Within days of applying, they helped cover our mortgage, giving us one less thing to worry about. My family and I will always be grateful."
