Warren's Community Dinner Table

WARREN'S COMMUNITY DINNER TABLE MISSION: WCDT is a place where Christians give thanks for God's goodness by demonstrating Christ's love in hosting a weekly dinner and inviting all of God's people to the table. WCDT is more than a "soup kitchen". We believe each person who comes to WCDT is there because they need to be fed, nourished and obtain fellowship. WCDT is a place where all people are treated equally and where everyone is welcomed.

The Warren's Community Dinner Table Ministry has operated for more than 25 years. It all started at Christ Church Episcopal but quickly became a Gage County area ministry. Christ Church Episcopal still hosts Warren's each Tuesday night, but many area churches and other organizations and individuals have worked together to offer these meals since its creation. The demand and need for these meals are steadily increasing with the challenges individuals and families in our area face.

Since the COVID pandemic, we have seen a reduced number of people coming to dine in the church parish hall for supper, but a big increase of those who 'drive thru' in their vehicles. We know the regulars not only by their names and faces but also by their cars in the drive thru. We know they have a loved ones at home or in their neighborhood/apartment complex who can't come to Warrens to eat due to physical or medical issues or transportation. There are some who ask for prayers while they wait to be served and others who just enjoy the fellowship each week.

As of 2025, our weekly average indoor/outdoor meals served range from 110-120 with our highest number served at 159.

The funds raised this year will help pay for the new metal ramp that will be installed leading into the church kitchen. This will provide an easier and safer access for our guests, servers, and delivery services.

The Episcopal Church will be providing a designated paved curbless area coming off the parking lot onto the sidewalk leading to the metal ramp.
