Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce & Gage County Tourism

Category: Community/Economic Development

This Year's Project: Shop. Eat. Drink. Support Local.

About Our Organization

The Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce advocates for our members and collaborates with other organizations to strengthen, sustain and grow our local culture and economy.

Your Chamber actively seeks ways through its program of work to improve the business climate in our community by providing information and services to both members and nonmembers. We have several working committees who meet regularly, including the Agri-Business Committee, Ambassadors, Government Affairs Committee, Holiday Lighted Parade Committee, Homestead Days Planning Committee, Leadership Beatrice Program & Advisory Committee, Southeast Community College Community Partnership, and Young Professionals Group.

We also coordinate Gage County Tourism through our partnership with Gage County. In addition to committees, the Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce hosts networking opportunities to build relationships and recognize our members throughout the community, including Business After Hours, Lunch & Learns, Candidate & Legislative Forums, Homestead Days, Southeast Nebraska Ag Management Expo, Ag Appreciation BBQ, Member Awards Luncheon, Holiday Lighted Parade, golf outings, and much more!

Current Project: Shop. Eat. Drink. Support Local.

Support local messaging is always important, but now more than ever, the community needs our help in this endeavor!

Through a series of promotions that utilize local and social media, billboards, posters, and more, the Support Local committee of Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce has a goal to increase awareness of the importance of choosing to spend dollars locally.

Your support of this project will help us to create and share messaging that will ignite pride in residents and visitors alike and further solidify the fact that supporting local should always be the first choice! It's imperative that choosing to support local becomes first nature for our consumers, as the health and well being of our economy depends on it!

Past Projects

  • Leadership Beatrice Participation Scholarships & Project Support

Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce coordinates the Leadership Beatrice program in an effort to develop and grow leaders within our community.  Whether new to the area or lifelong residents of the community, participants take away a broader knowledge base of the Beatrice community, expand their network of professionals and improve leadership skills throughout this ten month endeavor!  Over 150 people have graduated from Leadership Beatrice over the past 13 years! The thirteen classes have each completed a project to better our community as part of the program.

Each month features a different theme, including Art, Media & Culture, Class Project Development, Business & Industry, Non-Profit, Education, State Government, Health & Human Services, Local Government, and Agriculture.  Class projects completed by past Leadership Beatrice groups include: Paint-a-thon, Backpack Program, LBAN - Leadership Beatrice Alumni Network, Census Promotion & Awareness, Chair-ries Jubilee, Don't Just Park It - Let's Move, Scholarships to Beatrice 8th Graders with Leadership Qualifications, Food Drive for Community Food Pantry, Shootings Stars Baseball Game, Beatrice Big Help (Painted at Skateboard Park), Little Libraries, Dog Park Improvements, and Beatrice Storywalk.  No matter the scale, the projects have added value to our community in some fashion!

Leadership Beatrice is open to both members and nonmembers of Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce and is a tuition based program. Your contributions will allow us to offer scholarships to candidates who would like to participate, but have no funds for tuition. The contributions will also allow support of the class project that is a requirement of graduation from the program.
