This Year's Project: Middle School Recycling Project

About Our Organization

Keep Beatrice Beautiful (KBB), an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful,  is dedicated to empowering citizens of Beatrice and Gage County to take greater responsibility for enhancing their community environment.  Keep Beatrice Beautiful promotes recycling, litter cleanups, tree plantings and beautification projects for the benefit of Beatrice and Gage County.

Current Project: Middle School Recycling Project

The Beatrice Middle School is a strong advocate of paper recycling.  We would like to support that effort by providing wheeled containers. The wheeled containters will replace old worn out ones that are ten years old.  The Middle School students have recycled over 200,00 pounds of paper in the last 10 years.  Current equipment is worn out and needs to be replaced.  Students wheel the containers from room to room to collect recycled paper that will go to the Recycle Dropoff Center.  By supporting this project you will be encouraging students to be good stewards and develop a life long habit of recycling.

Past Projects

  • Trees for Veterans Memorial Park

    Project Details

Would like to plant two trees on Arbor Day in the Veterans Memorial Park to provide shade and comfort to those who come to pay tribute. This project would bring together Veterans, City of Beatrice, and elementary school students for an Arbor Day celebration while planting trees for shade in the park for years to come.

  • Purchase recycled plastic benches for Lincoln Elementary

    Project Details

Keep Beatrice Beautiful will raise funds to purchase two 6' Malibu Cedar benches constructed from recycled plastic water bottles. (In 2019, the BIGGIVEGAGE funding purchased benches for Paddock Lane Elementary School.)  In 2020, the BIGGIVEGAGE funding of $1,000 will purchase benches for Lincoln Elementary School students.  The cost of each bench is $500 to include shipping.  Plaques will be put on the benches to educate the youth that recycling is a great thing to do.  In the Fall, students will be asked to bring an empty plastic water bottle to school and put them in a recycling bin.

In future years, recycled plastic benches will be offered to the other local elementary schools to include Stoddard Elementary School,  St. Joseph Catholic and St. Paul Luther School.
