American Legion Auxiliary, Beatrice Post # 27

Honor doesn’t stand still — it moves with us.

The American Legion Auxiliary Post #27 is inviting our community to join us in taking local Veterans and their families to the Nebraska Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Papillion for a Journey of Honor. Our goal is to fill the buses with Veterans who wish to make this meaningful trip alongside the loved ones who have supported them through every chapter of their service. With 96 seats available, we hope to bring as many Veterans and family members as possible. The day will also include a stop for lunch at American Legion Post #32 in Papillion, NE.

This memorial holds deep significance for Nebraska but also Gage County. Two Gage County Veterans are forever honored on the wall — their names etched in stone as a lasting tribute to their courage, sacrifice, and service. Being able to bring Gage County to this memorial is profoundly important. It allows our community to stand before those names, to honor the men who never came home, and to ensure their legacy continues to be carried forward by the people who remember them.

Adding to the meaning of this day, the American Legion Riders will be escorting the buses, leading the journey with pride, respect, and unwavering support for the Veterans aboard.

For many, this journey will be a once‑in‑a‑lifetime moment of remembrance, healing, and connection with the brothers and sisters they served beside.
