Beatrice Humane Society

A nonprofit organization

The mission of the Beatrice Humane Society is to shelter, protect and place lost and homeless companion animals in Gage County, and to be an educational resource. Our vision: We envision a community that embraces companion animals with compassion. This includes protecting animals, promoting responsible pet ownership and educating the public.

The Beatrice Humane Society is Gage County's only physical animal shelter, providing lifesaving care to over 1,600 animals each year. Through Big Give Gage, we raise critical funds to reunite lost pets with their families as well as rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abandoned, unwanted and neglected pets. In 2024, your support helped us expand our low-cost spay/neuter clinic, provide emergency medical care to stray pets in need, and increase adoptions by 10% over 2023. Every dollar raised during Big Give 2025 will go directly toward saving lives-whether it's bottle-feeding orphaned kittens, treating heartworm-positive dogs, or reuniting lost pets with their families. We also serve as an educational resource, promoting responsible pet ownership and compassion in our community. With your help, we can continue to be a safe haven for animals in need and a voice for the voiceless. Join us in making a difference-because every tail wag and purr starts with you.
