The Beatrice Public Library Foundation allows the Beatrice Public Library to think outside of its normal day to day budget as it tries to creatively implement its mission.

The Foundation is currently undertaking a multi-year project: "The Outdoor Learning Center, Gazebo, and Landscaping Improvement Project". This project will include an outdoor classroom which will enable library patrons of all ages to enjoy the solitude of reading in a pleasing outdoor environment or in small groups. Children who are attending library activities will be able to participate in a safe environment on the library grounds. The project will include outdoor musical instruments for the enjoyment of all ages. It will also include a gazebo that will allow small group presentations, humanities activities, and small outdoor group activities. All these activities will be enhanced by upgraded landscaping. The Beatrice Public Library grounds are an affiliate of the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum.
