Nebraska Council on Problem Gambling

Founded in 1992 as the Nebraska Council on Compulsive Gambling, the Nebraska Council on Problem Gambling (NeCPG) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and the sole Nebraska affiliate of the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG).

The mission of NeCPG is to increase public awareness of problem gambling, to encourage availability of treatment services for problem gamblers and their families, and to provide resources for education and prevention.

We take a neutral stance on all legal gambling in the state of Nebraska, meaning we do not take a position for or against legalized gambling. We advocate solely for those currently and potentially affected by problem gambling.

Your financial support is used to provide free programming to all populations in Gage County and throughout Nebraska, with focus on populations vulnerable to gambling-related harm. Some of the most vulnerable populations include high school and college students, individuals in substance use and mental health recovery, justice-impacted populations, and individuals struggling with poverty.

Advocacy is a significant part of the work of Nebraska Council on Problem Gambling. NeCPG collaborates with community and state leaders to ensure the voices of those impacted by problem gambling are heard and represented.

Education services are also provided free of charge to community organizations, faith groups, addiction and mental health treatment providers, and community employers.

As gambling activity becomes more readily available and normalized in society, the amount of problematic gambling behavior has dramatically increased. NeCPG is the only Nebraska organization dedicated to reducing gambling-related harm through education and prevention. Your support is critical to providing awareness to this growing concern, as well as reducing social costs associated with problem gambling.
