Carnegie Center, Inc.

A nonprofit organization

Carnegie Center,Inc. advocates and assists with the preservation and restoration of the 1903 Carnegie Building and interprets and educates the community, visitors and all other interested persons and groups about the history and architecture of this National Register of Historic Places landmark.

Carnegie Center, Inc. has raised over $250,000 for projects including more than $100,000 for a replacement roof that saved the building before its 2012 renovation, over $80,000 to match grants for the building's restoration, and over $8,000 for the creation of a gasolier/electrolier made from antique parts to replicate the original 1903 custom-made fixture that had been replaced in an earlier remodeling project and over $5,000 for the repair and restoration of the Carerra marble tiles in the rotunda. Current projects include continued repair and restoration of the marble walls in the entry and the replacement of the original wooden floors that cannot be refinished. The $2600 goal for the 2025 Big Give project will go toward the total cost of the replacement of the severely damaged original wood floors with new ones of the same color and style.
