Evergreen Home Cemetery is home to several iconic and notable trees.  Most notable are the double rows of large pin oaks lining the south loop drives.  These large, beautiful trees are over 60 years old and are aging out fairly quickly.  Although a few species dominate the overall tree inventory, the cemetery is home to over 60 species of trees providing our visitors with a unique, park-like setting.  The cemetery recently underwent an evaluation from the Nebraska Forest Service.  It was found that 32% of our tree population is considered in fair, poor or dead condition.  As a result, the board has made substantial progress in the formation of our own tree nursery in an attempt to be proactive in tree replacement.  This fund raiser will help us complete the nursery infrastructure as well as to begin the purchase of more trees.
